I would definitely consider working for Schneider. Just like JB Hunt - back in the day when I started driving '93 - Schneider was looked down upon as scum - but it's not nearly as bad any longer and they are indeed an excellent company today.

Schneider was my first employer and I was put on a dedicated account out of training.  This suited me just fine and kept me close to home.  They preach SAFETY, SAFETY, AND SAFETY.

The only problems I had with them and the 4 companies I went to after them is trailer tandems.  The mechanics do not work on that part of the trailer---maybe its something required in mechanic school!  ;D  But that is my biggest gripe as no driver should struggle to slide tandems. How can you be expected to succeed and do your job as required when the mechanics and/or the companies do not care about this????

I only had 1 employer in the middle of these four that had the pins on the trailers about 4 holes apart and that made my job so much easier and the mechanics also worked on them.

I've worked for companies that had poorly maintained trailers. I never worked for Schneider, but that is incredibly frustrating and unnecessary - a little grease once or twice a year goes a long way.

Through all my years of driving you always heard everyone on the CB making fun of companies like Schneider, Swift, JB, and Werner - but the funny thing is when you talk to the drivers at those companies they generally seem really happy with their company - and that tells the real story.

Never worked for them, but I hear they are great to work for. As the same for the ones posted above me.
