Driver Pay

All of Hunt’s pay programs are based on the more accurate Practical Route miles instead of traditional short route miles. Drivers with one or two years of verifiable OTR experience start at 39¢ per mile. With up to five (5) or more years of recent verifiable experience you can start at 42¢ per mile. Our drivers are eligible for 1¢ per mile annual pay increase up to the maximum base pay of 43¢ per mile in the National Fleet.

If you have one or more years of quality flatbed experience which we are able to verify, you may qualify to start in our National Fleet at our experienced driver pay rate:

  • 1 year start at 39¢ per practical mile
  • 2 years start at 39¢ per practical mile
  • 3 years start at 40¢ per practical mile
  • 4 years start at 41¢ per practical mile
  • 5 years start at 42¢ per practical mile

401(k) Savings Plan

This retirement program allows the employee driver to set aside a specified amount of his/her earnings prior to withholding for taxes. The company will match a percentage of the employee’s contribution. This program is a substantial benefit to drivers who are actively planning their retirement. Entry into the 401K is permitted at the beginning of each quarter.

Profit Sharing

Crete Carrier Corporation contributes a portion of its yearly profits to the individual profit sharing account of every employee driver. As a result of the success of the company, this contribution over time can be quite rewarding. The Plan requires one full year of employment to participate. Contributions to your account in this part of the plan are paid by the company from its funds.

Hunt Transport Qualifications & Requirements

  • One year verifiable OTR flatbed trailer experience.
  • Has acceptably passed the required company and D.O.T. physical, drug test and the company in-truck driving test and otherwise meets D.O.T. requirements.
  • Has a Class A Commercial Driver’s License issued by the driver’s state of residence.
  • Has a stable verifiable work history.
  • Has attained the minimum age of 22 years.
  • Has an acceptable driving record as reflected by MVR with no major preventable accident in the most recent five (5) years.
  • No DUI or DWI convictions or positive drug screens or events in the past (5) five years and no felony convictions within the past (10) ten years.
  • Be able to perform functions set forth in job description
